Working with members of the Six Nations of the Grand, the Grand Erie District School Board embarked on an ambitious task of developing resources that support the oral traditions and histories of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people. These resources were designed to help teachers include First Nations, Metis, and Inuit perspectives in their classrooms.
After the board pulled together the information and developed the resource, Blueprint designed and created the materials that were distributed to students.
We worked hard with our partners at Six Nations and the Board to develop resources that reflect and celebrate Indigenous culture and traditions. That included understanding the stories and history and how to use the appropriate colours, graphic symbols and illustrations.
The result of this collaboration was a successful campaign which is used throughout the school board.
