Leveraging provincial resources for local use
Many school boards across the province have used the SHSM resources we created with OCTE. The Halton District School Board has customized the 6-panel brochures to promote their SHSM programs across the Board. The brochures highlight general information about the SHSM and lists which schools offer the program.
Many HDSB schools will have a particular focus to their SHSM programs. To provide information specific to each school’s SHSM, we created a 1-page flyer that mimics much of the design of the Board-wide brochures and provides contact information. The result is a document that is helpful to students and which can be shared with their parents and caregivers. To promote the programs internally, we also worked with some schools to develop additional collateral, like posters and retractable banners.
Both the Board brochures and the school-specific program information are found on the Halton Pathways website.

OCTE – the Ontario Council for Technology Education – picked up the design and is encouraging school boards across the province to use the design. To help with this initiative, we created several other promotional pieces, all based on the same look, to raise awareness of the SHSM program. All of those pieces sit on the OCTE site and so far, more than a dozen schools and school boards have ordered materials for their own use, customizing it to fit their own unique needs. A broad board-based branded solution!
